A note before reading

This library is based on Master Shengyuan’s personal experiences and reflections on spiritual practice. They may not apply to everyone’s circumstances. It is important to distinguish everyday life from spiritual practice, and science from metaphysical beliefs. Use your own judgment and read with care. If you have questions, you are welcome to discuss them.

The person does not necessarily have to make the selection for a reading with their own hands. Some schools ask the person concerned to do it, while others have the teacher select on their behalf, and each has its own explanation. In our online divination, the person can state the question and the diviner can make the selection on their behalf.

In my understanding, when a person sincerely wants to know about a matter and actively expresses that need, an energetic connection has already begun. That gives the diviner a direction to follow. Providing basic information and explaining the situation clearly also helps make this connection clearer. It is not determined only by whether the person’s hands have touched the chess pieces.

Ideally, the question should concern something closely connected with you. Your own circumstances, immediate family members, or close friends you know well and see frequently involve stronger connections. If you ask about a friend’s friend whom you do not even know, and the matter is far removed from you, the energy and information involved become much more complicated.

So we need to consider both whether a question can be asked online and whether that particular matter can be seen clearly. Being able to select on another person’s behalf does not mean that every distant question is equally easy to understand. We still have to consider the diviner’s ability and whether the connection is clear. We also need to understand what the reading is pointing out and what can be done next.

When meeting in person is possible, I prefer to talk face to face because communication is easier and the situation can be explained more clearly. However, I do not therefore consider online readings inaccurate. We have received considerable feedback from people who had online readings in the past. Besides text and voice communication, we also arranged video calls when both parties’ schedules allowed. Whichever way we communicate, we need to clearly express what we want to ask.
