Spiritual Cultivation and Movement
Are stronger perceptions always better, and what advantages can not seeing have?

Not necessarily. Stronger perceptions have advantages and responsibilities, while weaker ones bring different advantages. Seeing spirits alone cannot determine whether someone can handle a situation.
Early weaker perceptions made me braver in service. Without seeing fierce expressions or strongly sensing cold and hostility, I felt more able to act. Later, stronger perceptions clarified problems but also made those feelings more direct. Experience taught me there are benefits to both ability and its absence.
Spirit communication takes different forms: seeing, hearing, or smelling. Even those who see may contact and handle different things. Medical specialties illustrate why a shared title does not mean universal competence. Seeing does not establish ability to act, while not seeing does not rule it out.
Once perceptions arise, ask their purpose and whether they help others. Divine-spokesperson work may change daily life. I worked almost every day early on, later became exhausted, and needed rest. Increased ability also requires considering use and self-care.
Not seeing or hearing offers another advantage: less fixation on a particular image or sound may encourage seeking principles and wisdom. That is the perspective behind calling it fortunate, distinct from my earlier bravery through not seeing.
Seeing and hearing are not inherently good or bad and can accompany sound practice. Notice whether trusting feelings makes you forget judgment. Steady driving and holding a bowl securely before the next action illustrate grounded steps. Learn gradually with clear direction rather than sacrifice care for speed.
I did not initially expect special perceptions, so meditation focused on breathing and practice rather than anticipated images. I asked and read about unknowns. Looking back, this encouraged knowledge. I also experienced whole-body electricity and later learned others did not necessarily share it. My sensations cannot become everyone’s required standard.
